Keep Your Power Running With Home Generators

In Salt Lake City, where unpredictable weather and an aging power grid can lead to power outages, having a reliable backup power source is essential. At Whipple Service Champions, we install and service whole-home standby generators by Generac. The next time the grid goes down or there’s a storm, you can continue working, watching TV, and more with a backup generator.

Generac Guardian Series generators are the ultimate standby power supply. Built tough and able to handle your home’s power needs, a Guardian home generator connects to your existing LP or natural gas fuel supply. When it detects a power outage, it will automatically turn on in seconds and run as long as needed until the power grid is restored.

Make sure your lights stay on, no matter what happens. Contact Whipple Service Champions in Salt Lake City to schedule your home generator consultation today.

FAQs

What size generator do I need for my home?

The size of the whole-home standby generator you need depends on your power requirements. If you have a small home with minimal appliances and only a few circuits, 10–14kW might be enough.

25+ kW is typically recommended for larger homes with multiple HVAC systems and several high-energy-use appliances. Let one of our licensed electricians conduct a load calculation based on your home’s needs for a more precise recommendation.

Most Generac generators run on natural gas since they connect directly to your home’s pre-existing gas line. It provides unlimited power as long as your gas line is working. This is ideal if your home is already connected to a natural gas utility. It isn’t free power, so expect a higher gas bill once your power returns.
A whole-home standby generator is installed outside the home, similar to a central AC unit. They’re usually installed on a concrete pad near your home’s outdoor electrical and gas hookups. They have to be at least 3 to 5 feet away from your house and in an open space to allow airflow and prevent exhaust and carbon monoxide buildup in your home.
