Back-to-school season just got brighter for the students of Rose Park Elementary, thanks to the incredible generosity of the Whipple Service Champions Heating, Cooling, Plumbing and Electrical team and its partners. In a heartwarming show of community spirit, 303 fully loaded backpacks were donated to the school—far surpassing this year’s goal of 50.
This annual initiative began just last year, with a modest target of 50 backpacks. The team exceeded expectations by collecting 88. In 2025, the effort grew exponentially, fueled by a friendly internal competition and support from four vendor partners and one outside company that joined the cause after hearing about the drive.
Originally connected with a nearby school in need, Whipple pivoted to Rose Park Elementary after learning the former would be closing. The timing was serendipitous—Rose Park had recently lost another sponsor and was unsure how to support its students. Whipple’s outreach came just in time.
The backpacks were officially handed over to school administrators on August 7, and Whipple team members will be present at the school’s Back-to-School Night on August 14 to help distribute them. This initiative is a powerful reminder of what community, compassion, and collaboration can achieve.
